Join with other concerned citizens in the community to gain an understanding of gerrymandering, the issues surrounding the politics of drawing voting districts and the need for reform. Time for audience Q & A.

This event is free and open to the public! Refreshments provided. Doors open 12:30 p.m.

Moderator: Robert Siegel, former co-host of NPR's "All Things Considered."

Panelists:

Brian Cannon: Executive Director, OneVirginia2021, non-profit corporation organized to initiate a comprehensive effort to remove gerrymandering from the redistricting process in Virginia.

J. Gerald Hebert: Executive Director and Senior Director, Voting Rights and Redistricting at the Campaign Legal Center in Washington, DC. Co-counsel in Wisconsin's partisan gerrymandering case, "Whitford v. Gill".

Rebecca Green: Co-director of the William and Mary Law School's Election Law Program; member of the committee that drafted the proposed Constitutional Amendment to establish an independent redistricting commission in Virginia.

Dr. Michael Latner: Associate Professor at CalPoly, San Luis Obispo; Kendall Voting Rights fellow at the Center for Science and Democracy at the Union of Concerned Scientists; co-author of "Gerrymandering in America".
